Major multinational corporations are present both on the board of directors and as part of the scientific committee to steer course content in the direction of current and future labour market demands, and as a placement network for the internships that are part of the study programme.
bbw Hochschule started its activities in 2007 with the aim of being a strong academic partner for the Berlin and Brandenburg economy. bbw has grown rapidly by designing courses to meet the needs of local businesses. In just ten years it has become the largest private university in the region. This growth has been fuelled by an unwavering commitment to the academic development of our students.

bbw's blend of practical and theoretical training has seen over 10,000 students starting their career with a skillset that enables them to start work immediately as both academic specialists and managers. We are proud of each and every graduate and constantly strive to train them in a way that best prepares them for the issues and challenges that await them in an increasingly internationalised job market. A key way we do this is by connecting and collaborating on research and academic exchange projects with leading universities around the world. This focus has seen bbw expand its presence beyond the Berlin and Brandenburg region through strategic international partnerships and alliances with institutions in Italy, Asia, Africa and Russia - while developing closer relationships with business partners within the European Union.
The Italian office was also created thanks to the collaboration and support of ENGIM Veneto, a leader in the field of vocational training and employment services, with more than 3,600 students just in the Veneto region. ENGIM Veneto also has a deep-rooted and consolidated network of partner companies in the industrial, electronic, tourism and digital sectors, interested in welcoming interns for a course aimed at the realisation of a company project, which will then be discussed during the final thesis interview.
The collaboration between ENGIM Veneto and bbw Hochschule is therefore realised with the opening of bbw Italy under the aegis of the Veneto Region, which has signed a collaboration agreement for the project between the Region, ENGIM Veneto and bbw Hochschule for the development of transnational and local internships with the networks of reference companies of the courses held, as well as for the presence of teaching staff from the companies in question. The aim is to guarantee teaching standards based on company practice and in line with the real demands of the labour market.
bbw Italy offers a range of degree courses based on the current and future demands of the labour market, with a specific focus on the practical aspects of business processes and on internships in companies that are part of the international bbw Hochschule network.
The degrees , issued in Berln, are legally recognised at European level, according to the 1999 Bologna Convention signed by the Joint Declaration of the European Ministers of Higher Education.
The course of study is specifically designed to train an international mindset and to create opportunities to work abroad in the bbw Hochschule business network.
Courses are taught in English.
The training modules include 25% e-learning. This percentage may temporarily increase to 100% depending on the current conditions related to Covid-19.

On this basis, it is recognized by the Senate Administration of the Berlin city-state government and is therefore internationally recognized as well. bbw Hochschule is for now the only German state accredited University opening it’s branch in Venice.

No exam period
The modules of the studies start one after another. In addition to that the modules are consecutive, which means there are no stressful exam periods. The students have enough time to prepare for each exam. Our goal is the success of every single exam.
Blended Learning
In spite of presence lectures, e-learning is an important part of the studies. Almost 25 % of the workload of each module is on e-learning. Therefore, the benefits of theory and practice are perfectly combined.
