In our vision there are no borders.
Our vision is international: to become an academic partner of excellence capable of training in the skills for which Germany is renowned. Our programme envisages achieving this goal by closely aligning our mission as a provider of quality higher education with the fundamental principles of the EU and the German Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GiZ) (Association for International Cooperation).
We are the first and only German state-recognised university to have been granted permission to open a branch in Italy.
As a result, in addition to being legally recognised at European level, degrees are awarded in Venice.
The principles and guidelines that drive our way of working towards excellence look not only to Europe, but to international programmes and stakeholders. In order to do this, we work by expanding, increasing and enriching the educational offer with international insights. In this sense we are concerned with:
Developing project-based learning initiatives in cooperation with partner universities around the world with, where applicable, the support of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD).
Delivering blended learning approaches that directly benefit both bbw and partner university students. This includes the use of live video seminars, hackathons, joint international research and development projects, double degrees, field visits and workshops with partner institutions and companies to internationalise the skills of all participating students.
Keeping the focus of these initiatives on engineering and economic topics, as these are the strengths of bbw.

Our approach is global
bbw University started its activities in 2007 as an important academic partner for the economy of Berlin and Brandenburg. The university has grown rapidly and exponentially thanks also to the design of online courses created to meet the needs of local businesses. In just ten years, bbw University has become the largest private university in the region. This growth has been fuelled by an unwavering commitment to and pursuit of excellence in the academic education we offer our students.
The combination of practical and theoretical training at bbw has seen more than 10,000 students enter with a skillset that allows them to immediately start work as both academic and management specialists. We are proud of each and every graduate and are constantly striving to educate students so that they are better prepared for the issues and challenges that await them in an increasingly demanding, competitive and internationalised labour market.
The key to succeeding in our goal is to connect and collaborate in order to propose new research projects and academic exchanges with leading universities around the world. In this way, bbw University has been able to expand its presence beyond the Berlin and Brandenburg region by entering into strategic international partnerships and alliances with leading institutions and organisations in Italy, Asia, Africa and Russia.
